Tug's Favorite Songs of 2008
Well, here they are, in no particular order, the songs that ruled my eardrums this year. Enjoy! (Yeah, there’s 50 of ‘em. Wanna make something of it?)
Tugs Fav Songs of 2008
Rivers Cuomo et al., Don’t Worry Baby (Beach Boys cover)
Say what you will about modern-day Weezer, but man, I still like to see old Rivers get his sing on.
Bishop Allen, Shanghai
Brand new song from Bishop Allen that wasn’t filmed on someone’s cell phone! Yay! I like this little diddy quite a lot, and while i was disappointed that Broken String was mostly re-workings of tracks from the EP project, I’m still looking forward to their upcoming album (3/10/09) Grr…, especially if it brings the goods like this track does.

It just always makes me so happy to see these guys hanging out together again.

Little Joy, No One’s Better Sake
Pitchfork.tv just posted this awesome, 70s after school special effects video. I like these guys and this video despite their connections with Devendra Banhart.

The Web Sherriff is logging a lot of overtime trying to stop any tracks from Merriweather Post Pavillion from hitting the blogosphere, but I guess this streaming track is out of his jurisdiction. Good thing, ‘cause I’ve been listening to it all morning, and I’m digging the heck out of it.
